March 23, 2017 brought to a close 90 years of a life well lived for Albert Lamar Payne. He was born November 2, 1926 in Levelland, TX to Lou Mattie (Stark) and Ault Lamar Payne. Albert had an extensive career in the United States Air Force retiring as a CMSGT. Following his time in the Air Force Albert went to work for Kerr McGee as a systems analyst eventually retiring from there as well. Albert enjoyed volunteering at Tinker AFB as well as at Sunny Lane UMC. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, loved a good golf game, and in his spare time, leather work. Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Payne; parents, two brothers, and one son-in-law. He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Squire, Paula Arganbright and husband Dr. Kim Arganbright; son, Buddy Payne and wife Clare; one sister; five grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Services to celebrate Albert’s life will be 2:00pm Monday, March 27, 2017 at Sunny Lane UMC with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
