Welcome to the memorial page for

Terry Fisk

August 9, 1963 ~ February 20, 2017 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Terry was the love of Joey’s life, the couple was married for 16 years and they were soulmates.   Terry and Glenda were more than just sisters; they were best friends and on the very rare occasion they went a day without seeing one another, they would speak on the phone.  There was never a day they hadn’t heard one another voices. All of life’s decisions were made together – the two had an indescribable bond.   Terry was the baby of the family, the youngest of 7 children born to Carl and Connie Fisk.  Her father, Carl, always called her beautiful.

Terry was creative and an artist in many areas of life.  She planned parties and holiday gatherings being sure that all things coordinated and asking everyone what they wanted all the way down to the color of writing on the birthday cakes.  Attention to detail in planning the perfect party and finding the perfect gifts were always important to her. She did all of the cooking and planning for all family gatherings.  No one could wrap a gift more beautiful or as quickly as Terry.  The first Christmas without her will be very difficult as will every holiday.

Terry will be missed desperately and remembered as a kind, godly woman who always gave generously of her time and herself. She had an unwavering faith in God and her ultimate goal was to see everyone in her family saved. She was a member of Harvest Assembly of God Church but she brought church into every area of her life, including her role as “the Little Old Lady” at the Terror on 10th Street Haunted House where for 12 years she preached the gospel to patrons before they escaped.

Terry was wise, if you needed GOOD advice, she was the person to go to.  She took care of everyone else, putting everyone else’s needs above her own and would drop anything in her own life to take care of another person whether she knew them or not.
Throughout her life, Terry loved spending time with family and caring for children, she especially loved her nieces and nephews.  She helped raise two of her nieces and two nephews.   She was only 18 years-old when Terry and her sister Glenda welcomed Michael, 11 at the time, Kimber, 8, and Tina, 6, in her home.  Jimmy also lived with Terry and Glenda for a short time.  Terry enjoyed spending time and playing with Kimber’s four children, Caleb, Megan, Brooke and Logan – they brought her incredible joy.   She always asked them who loved them – and their answer was always, “Jesus and God and you”.

Terry also enjoyed going to garage sales looking for that perfect bargain, shopping for the perfect gift for all of her loved ones as well as decorating the graves of deceased loves ones.  Her work on the graves was legendary and people came from all over to visit the Fisk Family grave sites at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband Richard “Joey” Martinez; her beloved sister and best friend Glenda Fisk; nephew Jimmy Fisk Jr. and son Jimmy Ray; nephew Michael Crawford; niece Kimber Shafer, her husband Brian and their four children, Caleb, Megan, Brooke and Logan -- whom she adored, and niece Tina Bennett and husband Robert.    She also leaves behind Uncle Dwayne Welch; brother Carl Fisk, Jr. and wife Jackie; sister Linda Brust and husband James; nieces Carlina Wagaman, Michelle Green, Angie Bernier, Krissy Stanley and nephews David Brust and Tony Fisk.

Terry is preceded in death by her parents, Carl W. and Connie Fisk; her sister, Carol Thomas; brothers Jimmy Ray Fisk, Sr. and Dwayne “Bubby” Fisk, niece Shree Fisk and nephew Carl Fisk III.

Her absence has left an enormous void in our lives that will never be filled.   Though we rejoice she is with her Savior, it doesn’t stop the pain and loss we feel with her not being here.
