Susan L. Hart

June 4, 1950 ~ October 19, 2017 (age 67) 67 Years Old
After 67 years of a life well lived Susan Larue Hart retired to her heavenly home. Susan was born June 4, 1950 in Oklahoma City to Georgia and Ralph Storey. In 1965 Susan met the love of her life Mike Hart and they were married on October 1st of that year. She blessed Mike with three wonderful sons who were the shining light of her life. Susan lived for her children and stayed home to care for them until the youngest reached school age to make sure they all had the best start in life. Once her children entered school, Susan began working in the Oklahoma City Public Schools nutrition program. Over the course of her career she became the cafeteria manager at Northwest Classen High School and then finished her career as the cafeteria manager of Southeast High School. Susan had many employees that loved her dearly as well as many students that looked to her to brighten their day. After more than thirty years of caring for Oklahoma students, Susan retired to enjoy time with family.

During retirement Susan spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren and family. She also loved baking, sewing and crafts of almost any kind. She regularly attended craft shows to get new ideas for things she could make to adorn her beautiful and well-kept home. Her home was the most welcoming place in her entire family’s world. Susan’s specially made birthday cakes and home family parties were what made her grandchildren’s birthdays really special. Holidays were also a time when she would shine especially bright, making everyone feel the true spirit of the holiday with her special recipes and decorations.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents. Left to treasure her memory is her husband of 52 years and love of her life Mike Hart; sons Chris Hart and wife Shelly, Paul Hart and wife Joanna, Walter Hart and wife Tammy; 11 grandchildren Kevin, Crystal, Matthew, Justin, Isaac, Daniel, April, Kaitlin, Brittany, Eric, and Scott; 2 great-grandchildren Sapphire and Xander; 2 sisters; 1 brother and many other family members and friends. Susan will be missed by all who knew her.

We love you wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma.

In lieu of flowers Susan's family requests that you make a donation to The Bone Marrow Foundation.
