Roger Nicholas DiSalvatore of Oklahoma City, OK passed away April 23, 2017 at the age of 77. Roger was born April 27, 1939 in Bethlehem, PA to Aleide “Archie” and Violet (Lubitich) DiSalvatore and graduated from Liberty High School and got his BS degree from OSU.
Roger joined the Air Force 1957, was Radio Tech then Supervisor and Instructor. He was deployed to Vietnam with ACS Commandos and served for 22 years as a Master Sergeant. He was with first AWACS group from Seattle WA to Tinker AFB where he retired. While stationed at Sembach/Ramstein Germany Roger formed a barbershop quartet and sang and competed. He spoke German, Hungarian and some Italian. Roger was 2nd generation American. He had wonderful tenor voice, great sense of humor and loved his family, pets and church.
Roger was a member of Vocal Sounds of OK Barbershop Chorus (formerly OK Chorale). He was a member of the Barbershop Society for 63 years. Roger worked in Scouts, officiated baseball, football and basketball and enjoyed playing golf. He was a Mason, a Shriner, and American Legion.
Roger is survived by his wife, Bonnie DiSalvatore of 28 years and three sons, Roger DiSalvatore Jr, wife Marilyn, and son Dr. Greg DiSalvatore and wife Sandi, and son Jeff DiSalvatore and wife Cherri along with 13 grandchildren, Shay, Dylan, India, Kathryn, Rachel, Elizabeth, Carly, Van, Caroline, Ella, Schelby, Zoe and McKenna, two great-granddaughters and two step-children Deborah Camp and William Camp.
Services to celebrate Roger’s life will be 2:00p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Moore 1st United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens.
