Chuck Glover

Chuck Glover, 82, was born November 4, 1934 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Alan and Minnie Glover and passed away on March 18, 2017 in Norman. He attended school in Lawton, and Mena, Arkansas. He served in the United States Army, in Korea before he was 20. Chucks lifelong career was in the sheet metal trade. He began as an apprentice in the 1950’s after a short time he advanced to sheet metal superintendent. He was active in Local 124. His career gave him the opportunity to participate in construction of building in Oklahoma, such as Western Electric in OKC, the missile plants in Altus and many others. In 1965 he became sheet metal shop foreman for Matherly Mechanical in Midwest City. In a short time he became manager of the sheet metal division. In 1976 he and Jack Matherly became partners in G-M Sheet Metal. He ran the company until he retired in 1996. He enjoyed his retirement, loved to play golf, go to OU Football and Basketball games. He loved old westerns on TV. Matt Dillon was his hero. Chuck took care of all of us and now God will take care of him until we join him in heaven. He loved attending church at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard, where his son, Richard is pastor. He attended Chisolm Creek Baptist Church before Pleasant Hill, Pastor Dan Maxwell was his pastor and good friend. Chuck was preceded in death by his dad, Alan Glover; mother, Minnie Bryson; brother, Don Glover; son, Brett Glover. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Emma; sons, Darryl Glover and wife Cheryl, Mike Glover and wife Karen, Richard Payne, and wife Carmen, David Bennett and wife Susan, and Keith Payne and wife Donna; daughters Kay Thompson and husband Ken, and Gail Linthicum and husband Joe; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday 12pm-8pm, with family present to greet friends from 6-8pm.
A celebration of Chuck's life will be held 2pm Wednesday in the Chapel at Resthaven.
