Tribute

Anthonia Uche Iyiagu-Okpoko, 62, was born on February 28, 1962, to Gilbert Iyiagu and Benedette Nwankwo in the village of Umulumgbe in Udi LGA of Enugu State, Nigeria. She graduated from UNTH Enugu, School of Nursing in 1979 before immigrating to Belize and then Chicago, IL. Anthonia moved to Oklahoma City, OK after connecting with her now husband, Anthony Okpoko. The two married in 1996 and had their two daughters, Peace and Joy.

Anthonia was a woman with strong values. She believed in hard work and education. This was shown in her obtaining a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and later becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She also encouraged and pushed her daughters to excel and be the best versions of themselves that they could be. Anthonia also valued supporting those around her as she never missed an opportunity to show up and give her all to the people in her community, take care of her siblings from afar, and make numerous sacrifices for her children. Anthonia always led with kindness and compassion and her gentle, yet fun-loving. soul will be truly missed.

Anthonia is survived by her husband Anthony Okpoko; daughters Peace and Joy Okpoko; and siblings Joseph, Maria, Ann, Nicholas, Ikechukwu, Chijioke, and Amaka. Waiting for her in Heaven were her parents Gilbert and Benedette, and her brother Albert. Anthonia will forever be a cherished mother, wife, sister, aunt, health care provider, and friend.
