Wilma M. Koons

Wilma Marie Koons entered her Heavenly home on July 26, 2022. She was born June 15, 1932 in Darwin, OK to Lathon and Ada Kilgore (Finley).
Wilma graduated from Buffalo Valley High School. She worked for the State Department of Human Services and retired with them in 1998.  She was married to Jimmie Doyle of Clayton, in her early life. Later on, she remarried to Robert (Bob) Koons for 27 years and had 3 children together. She was a member of Mayridge Baptist Church. 
Wilma had a passion for softball, she enjoyed coaching and watching it throughout her life. She was an avid fan of the University of Oklahoma Women’s Softball team and their Women’s Basketball team. She also enjoyed watching her son coach high school football, as well as watching her grandkids play ball. She enjoyed going to the VFW and dancing on Saturday nights. She loved playing games such as Wahoo and Dominos. Over the years she also spent some time collecting coins. 
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Lathon and Ada Kilgore; her ex husband, Robert Koons; sisters, Sylvia Potts, Lavon Conley, and Azuela Estell; and brothers, Doyle Kilgore, Ralph Kilgore, and Hershel Kilgore.
Those left to continue her legacy include her daughters Donna Kay, and ex husband Doug Davis, and Janice Velez and husband Art; her son, Philip Koons and wife Shelley; grandchildren, Jessica Martin-Box, Michael Hale and wife Becki, Brandi Becker and husband Bryan, Chancy McCrary and Henry Breckenridge, Sterling Koons and wife Erin, Tanner Koons and wife Hayley, Cooper Koons, Carly Koons, Molly Koons, Julius Koons; and 11 great-grandchildren. Wilma is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends who all love her dearly.
Visitation for Wilma is 1:00pm-8:00pm, Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Resthaven Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Wilma’s Celebration of Life ceremony is 2:00pm, Monday, August 1, 2022 at the Chapel at Resthaven.
