On Wednesday, June 13, 2018, Wilma Doris Manning went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, just shy of her 93rd birthday. She was born June 16, 1925, to Henry “Green” Manning and Halcyon Marie (Conkwright) Manning in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended Capitol Hill Junior High and Moore High School, married her high school sweetheart and they had four children together - Theresa, Judy, Larry and Kenneth Dyer. In 1959 she married Earnest W Ashley and gained another son, Wesley Calvin Ashley. Earnest and Wilma were happily married for 40 years.
Earnest was in the service, stationed in Germany, and she was able to travel all over Europe, especially enjoying Italy. When he retired they purchased a motor home, joined a campers club, and traveled all over the states, often taking one or more of their grandchildren with them.
Wilma retired from the Exchange National Bank of Moore in 1992 and they spent the next few years babysitting and spoiling their great-grandchildren. She attended Wilmont Place Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering and helping out in in any way she could. She liked to crochet and made afghans for most of her children.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Floriene Krewall and Frances Bates, her daughter Judy and infant son Matthew, her son Larry, and her grandson Todd Evers. Survivors include son W C Ashley and wife Barbara of Odessa, TX, daughter Theresa and husband Bob Humphries of Newcastle, OK, son Kenneth Dyer of Oklahoma City, OK, granddaughters Shari and husband David Ardies of Newcastle, OK, Melisa and husband Jesse Ott, Dibble, OK, Tessa and husband Ramiro, Tucson, AZ, eight great grandchildren; Marlee, Abigail, Hannah, Audrey, Katie, Blake, Bailey, Grayson and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends all of whom she loved dearly.
