William Teague

August 11, 1936 ~ February 25, 2021 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Tribute

William “Bill” Lawton Teague Sr., of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away on February 25, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years.

William “Bill” Lawton Teague was born on August 11, 1936, in Waterloo, South Carolina. He was the son of Clyde and Pearl (Corbett) Teague. He entered the United States Navy serving in the Korean Conflict, Vietnam, and the Cuban Missile Crisis, retiring after 20 years of service as Senior Chief Petty Officer.
Better known to us as "Papa Billy" or "Bill", he served his country proudly and his family fiercely. Everyone he met was delighted with his unmatched sense of humor and classic South Carolina drawl. Humor he found in every situation and his resilient nature shined on the other side of every dark valley he traveled. His life was the definition of servant leadership and loyalty to his family or anyone in need. He still had more lives to delight and more humor to find when he left us, but we find comfort in knowing his body, is restored and we will someday once again be reunited with him and our Lord Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 35 years Sherlene Teague and second wife of 20 years Lynn Teague and his son William Lawton Teague JR.

He is survived by one son, James David Teague and wife Donna of Oklahoma City; his grandchildren: Sean Teague, Conor Teague, Jessica Teague, and Taylor Teague; two great grandchildren, Avery Teague, Jacob Casey; and many beloved step children; and step grandchildren.
