Virdie Lela Lowery

Virdie Lela Hayes Bobo was born August 31, 1924, in a small farming community in Lawrence County, Alabama, to Ella and Elmer Bobo. She was the third of four children born to the Bobo family. Her sister, Grace Knight, brothers Lamon and Art Bobo have all preceded her in death. On December 24, 1949, she married the love of her life, Sam Lowery, who preceded her in death in 1981. Her children Jo Burtcher and Pat Crocombe gave her 4 grandchildren: Tami Sniegowski, Tracy Leonard, Jeff Burtcher and Kevin Crocombe and 5 great grandchildren: Shannon Sniegowski, Stephanie Sniegowski, Chace McBride, Kai Declan Crocombe and Brandon Bowen.

Virdie was a faithful member of Emmaus Baptist Church for many years until she could no longer attend. She loved her family as they were her treasure. She also loved to dance, the color red and traveling. She was an avid reader and puzzler. She was a sweet, feisty, strong willed and determined lady who was dearly loved by her many friends and family. She passed away December 1, 2019, and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
