Vicente Equigua Garcia, 92 of Oklahoma City passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 from complications due to Covid-19.

Vicente was born (July 16, 1928) in Michoacán, Mexico. Married to María de Jesús Herrera on (December 28, 1952). The family moved from Laredo, Texas to Oklahoma City in August 1966. Vicente and Maria became proud Naturalized American Citizens in early 1990’s. A custom footwear master craftsman by trade he also learned and made custom saddles at Andy Card Leather Co. in Stockyards City from 1963 to 1976. He then worked for Loveless Orthopedic, where he was influential for the business decision and key to the design and production success to make custom boots in addition to custom orthopedic footwear. Both Presidents George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush can attest to his craftsmanship as they both own boots made by Vicente. After 34 years at Loveless Orthopedic he retired in (2010).

Preceded in death by his wife Maria after (61) years of marriage.

Vicente is survived by nine children and their spouses - Mary Gorden; Joe Equigua-Garcia and his wife Sharon; Rosa Thompson; Vincent Equigua Jr. and his wife Brenda; Tony Equigua; Emerald Mullican; Blanca Neal; David Equigua; Cesar Equigua and his wife Amy; as well as 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm at the funeral Home

Due to COVID risks, the family will hold private Rosary on Tuesday January 26, 2021, and a funeral mass with burial services on Wednesday January 27th. Flowers may be sent to Resthaven Funeral Home.
