Velda Christine Lawson

Velda Christine Lawson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed in Oklahoma City, on June 7, 2020, at the age of 79 years.

Velda Christine Lawson was born on December 23, 1940, in Castle, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Raymond White and Jessie Marie (Bishop) White Martin. She grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Capitol Hill Public Schools. Following her education she married Terry Glen Lawson on July 5, 1958, in Gainesville, Texas, and they made their home in Oklahoma City where she served her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed car traveling to different places, spending time with her family, and loved her dog “Zetta”. On April 21, 1977, Terry preceded her in death and she continued to make Oklahoma City her Home.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by he two daughters, Terrie Ivie and husband Randy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Cindy Read and husband Bill of Woodville, Texas; four grandchildren, Christopher Read, Jennifer Read, Jessica Shuster, and Randi Carey; two sister, Pat Pinto of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, and Rose Surber of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with Rev. Johnny Wray officiating. Burial will follow in the Reathaven Memory Gardens.
