After 78 years of a life well lived Tommy Joseph Metzger passed away on April 17, 2019 in Edmond, OK. He was born on October 22, 1940 in Oklahoma City to Henry J and Lillian (Reynolds) Metzger. Tommy graduated from Capitol Hill High School and joined the Army and served during the Vietnam War. He joined the Oklahoma City Police Department and retired as a Sargent in 1983 and a year later went to work for Tinker Air Force Base as an Aircraft Mechanic. Tommy retired from Tinker after 21 years of service. Tommy enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, collecting US History books but most of all he enjoyed his family. He married Danna D. Harrington on July 16, 1965 and they were married for 53 wonderful years. Tommy is survived by his wife Danna; son, Hank Metzger and wife Angela; and two grandchildren, Brooke Metzger and Ethan Metzger. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers. Services to celebrate Tommy’s life will be 10:00 am Saturday, April 20th at The Chapel at Resthaven with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
