Josephine Manning

Josephine Manning left her earthly home August 4, 2019. She was born September 19, 1923 in Paoli, OK; the 10th of 11 children born to John and Clara Orndorff.

A devout Christian and her family’s “prayer warrior,” Jo was a member of Capitol Hill United Methodist Church for over 70 years. Jo retired after 38 years from Mid Continent News Company as an Accounting Supervisor. She also loved University of Oklahoma sports, sewing, and spending time with her grandkids.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: beloved husband of 76 years, Shy Manning; daughters, JoJo Pelphrey and husband Harry, and Marilyn Pennington; grandchildren: Dan Reeves and wife Amy, Dale Reeves, and Max Watson and wife Karin; great grandchildren: Kaitlin Scorsone and husband Christian, Matt Reeves, Mackenzie Reeves, Corey Reeves and Britney, Grant Reeves, Kimberley Watson, and Alexandria Watson; great-great grandchildren: Lincoln Scorsone, Hayden Reeves, Hunter Reeves, and Greyson Ramsey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Carol Feaster, Denise Wills, and the caregivers at Rambling Oaks Memory Care for the loving care they provided Jo.

A memorial service will be held 3pm Thursday, August 8 at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
