Shirley H. Schroll

May 2, 2018 brought to a close 83 years of a life well lived for Shirley H. Schroll as she went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born August 30, 1934 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Myrtle and Robert Hackett.
Shirley was married to her beloved, Glen Schroll for 57 wonderful years, and to their union they had three children, David Schroll, Diann James and Deborah Galindo. Shirley graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a bachelor in Social Work. She loved her church, Brookwood Baptist Church, and appreciated all the things they did to care for her.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Myrtle Hackett; husband, Glen Schroll; brother, Robert Hackett; and son, David Schroll.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diann James of Oklahoma City and Deborah Galindo of Oklahoma City; grandson, Joshua James of Oklahoma City; granddaughter Catherine James of Tulsa; great-granddaughter, Audrey James of Oklahoma City; sister, Margaret Crist of Moore; sister-in-law, Heidi Hackett of Georgia; many nieces and nephews; adopted family, grandson, Derrick Young, Mike and Trish Beck, Gwen Thompson; and many other family and friends. Many thanks to the adopted family for the love you’ve shown both mom and dad and our entire family. In addition, the family would like to extend their appreciation for Mays Home Health who graciously took care of both Glen and Shirley over the last few years.
Services to celebrate Shirley’s life will be 2:00pm Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Brookwood Baptist Church with burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
