Samuel Raymond Iven passed into eternity in the comfort of his family early in the afternoon Tuesday, October 12, 2021. He was the only summer baby born to his parents Oscar and Agnes (Luetkemeyer) Iven in Okeene, OK July 11, 1946. Sam grew up on the family farm surrounded by extended family of more than seventy-five first cousins! He attended St. Mary Catholic School and Okeene High School. He went on to graduate from SWOSU and entered the U.S. Air Force Reserves serving for six years during the Vietnam War. Along his journey of life, he became a graceful dancer, meeting his wife Dee Stewart Iven at Cowboys OKC Dance Hall. They married on May 18, 1990 and were together for 36 years. He and Dee enjoyed traveling and gaming at various casinos around the U.S. He loved getting together at family reunions and playing golf and poker with friends and family. Sam took pride in his work and enjoyed remodeling projects with his son. Surviving him are his children: Michelle (Mark) Taylor, Marcus Iven, and Melannie (Jay) Jantzen and their mother Reba Cruz; his cherished grandchildren: Sierra Jantzen, Brooke Taylor, Blake Taylor, Bailey Jantzen, Noah Jantzen, and Kingston Iven; and his great granddaughters: Tynleigh Yinger, Sage Patton, and Macie Bowles. Left to support Sam’s children and Dee are his brothers and spouses: John, Nick (Sue), Max (Marj), Tim, Tom (Nancy), Alan, Jeff (Terri) and his only sister, Joy (Ron Harper); seven nieces and twelve nephews and twenty great-nieces and great-nephews; and his brother-in-law Raymond (Sherry) Stewart and niece Karina Stewart (Alec Ramirez) and son Nicholas; nephew Stephen Stewart (Caren Chancey) and daughters Melody and Natalie. His parents, a brother Oscar, Jr. and two nephews predeceased Sam. There will be graveside services at Resthaven Cemetery, OKC. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 11:00 am.
