3 Flowers or Condolences have been shared with support of Ruby's family - View on Tribute Wall
After 88 years of a life well lived, Ruby Neoma Palmer passed February 10, 2021. She was born November 28, 1932 in Ravia, OK to Jess and Bell Norton. Ruby grew up in the Tishomingo and Sulphur area. She met her loving husband, Joseph Palmer, while he was serving in the United States Air Force. They were blessed with 64 years of marriage prior to Joseph’s passing on October 30, 2016. Ruby and Joseph were members of the OKC Metro Elder Board for the Chickasaw Nation. To say they had a flare for Christmas would be an understatement. Joe was the founder of the Bethany Children’s Center Christmas Wonderland and built the first 5 scenes. Their home was decorated inside for Christmas year around. They collected nativity scenes from all over the world. They also had a passion for traveling together, and especially loved cruising. They took 29 cruises during their 64 years of marriage. Ruby absolutely loved the color purple and incorporated it into her daily life in any place she could. She was known by most as the “purple lady”.
She was preceded in passing by her loving husband, Joseph Palmer; parents, Jess and Bell Norton; son, Joe Palmer, Jr. ; brothers, Iv, Fred A, and Charlie; and sisters, Juanita, Lorraine, and Jean.
Those left to continue her legacy include her sons, Robert Palmer and Sylvia and Tom Palmer and Julie Harlan; grandchildren, Candi Fritz and Justin, Cari Clumpner and Scott, Mallory Palmer, Cami Cox and Doyle, Chelsea Palmer, Ashley Palmer, Thomas Palmer and Jessica, and Justin Palmer; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Kylee, Caroline, Avery, Brooklynn, Kai, Kamron, Joshua, Aerabella, Kayson, Curby, Krash, Miah, and Aryia; and loving cousins and caregivers, Billy Don and Glennale Hester.
