Robert “Bob” Allen Sanford passed away on June 24, 2017 at home; he was 90 years old. His son, Robert Jr., and wife, Ruby, of 63 years, were by his side. Robert was born on June 26, 1926 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Lorene Allen Sanford and Elton H. Sanford. He was preceded in death by his parents and older siblings, Douglas and June. Robert served in WW II and the Korean War while he in the US Navy. He was proud of his service for the United States. After his honorable discharge from the Navy he attended Southern Methodist University in Texas and earned a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the Texas Highway Department before beginning a career for the Federal Aviation Administration in Atlanta, Georgia and Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Sanford of Moore, Oklahoma, sister Barbara Ann Tasker of Texas; daughter Pam Sanford of Norman and son Robert Sanford, Jr. also of Norman; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Robert had many hobbies including: remote control planes, woodworking, golf, bowling, and most recently, painting. Visitation will be at Resthaven, Moore, OK.
