Robert E. Melin

Robert E. Melin went to be with the Lord on January 9, 2021. He retired with the United States military after 26 years of service. He then volunteered at Hillcrest hospital assisting patients and family members of patients for 18 years.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara and 2 brothers.
Robert is survived by his wife of 14 years, Lou Humphrey-Melin, who has loved him dearly. His daughter Robin Melin and 2 sons, Grant Melin and Scott Melin. Step daughter, Janice Kennett-Crauthers, Jennifer Finley and stepson Ed Humphrey jr. grandchildren, Abbie Rhiana Kennett, Stephanie Van Datta, Jeffrey Melin, Hannah Melin, Samuel Melin, Sean Melin, Andrew Melin, Stephen Melin. Great grandchildren, Lacey Van Datta, Lucas Van Datta, and Audrey Melin. With 2 brothers, there were many nieces and nephews and other family members.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but has now taken the place among the great cloud of witnesses in heaven, where he will be waiting to welcome us all home.


Visitation is 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday, January 11, 2021 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Services are 2:00pm, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Chapel at Resthaven.
