Richard Wood

Richard Earl Wood of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Passed away on March 26 2021,
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years.
Richard Wood was born May 5, 1935 in Zearing, Iowa. He was the son of Lloyd
and Opal Wood. He grew up in Zearing, Iowa he attended Zearing High School
graduating from Zearing High School
before joining the United States Air Force in 1952.
Following his education Richard joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and
was proud of his service. He is a Veteran of three Wars and retired from the Air
Force in May1995.
Richard very much enjoyed sports playing throughout High School and the Air
Force playing in competitive leagues in basketball, baseball, boxing and even a
season or two of soccer when stationed in England
he loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Winifred Janice Wood, he loved
spending time with his family.
He is survived by brother Gerald Wood
Son Brian and wife Vickey Wood
Daughter Candace and husband Dan Boykin
Step sons, Craig Allen and wife Suzy of Oklahoma City, James Dale of Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma, David Lee of Houston, Texas; and fourteen grandchildren; eight
and one half great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens with full military honors.
