Rick grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Southeast High School. He went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Rick worked as a CPA for 34 years. He retired in 2001 as the Managing Partner of the Oklahoma City office of Ernst and Young.

He greatly enjoyed family vacations and was always thrilled to have large family dinners. In fact, Rick’s last words to his family were “hey, aren’t we going to go out to dinner?”
Rick was actively involved in Rotary, Committee of 100, All Sports Association, and many other organizations.
He was preceded in passing by his mother, Mary Childs; and grandparents, Robert and Kate Harkins.
