Rick Corn

Richard “Rick” Douglas Corn passed from this life July 17, 2019 at the age of 74. He was born April 11, 1945 in Oklahoma City.
Rick grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Southeast High School. He went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Rick worked as a CPA for 34 years. He retired in 2001 as the Managing Partner of the Oklahoma City office of Ernst and Young.

He was an avid OU fan and loved OU football and basketball. In addition, he loved playing golf any time he could. He was always telling jokes and humorous stories, even if his family and friends had heard them a dozen times. More than anything, Rick loved spending time with his family. He greatly enjoyed family vacations and was always thrilled to have large family dinners. In fact, Rick’s last words to his family were “hey, aren’t we going to go out to dinner?”
Rick was actively involved in Rotary, Committee of 100, All Sports Association, and many other organizations.
He was preceded in passing by his mother, Mary Childs; and grandparents, Robert and Kate Harkins.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce Corn; sons, Todd Corn and wife Ayumi and Greg Corn and wife DeeDee; daughter, Stacy Meiring and husband Pieter; grandchildren, Deric, Megan, Alec, Stephanie, Sarah, Huxley, Ben, and Ike; great-grandbaby, Alice; dad, Ed Childs; and sister, Cathy Turner. Rick is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends.
Rick’s visitation will be 2:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
