Rendel Scott Carney (Rendy), died unexpectedly Monday, July 15, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 56.
Rendy was born on January 30, 1963 at Deaconess Hospital. He lived in Oklahoma City for most of his childhood and eventually moved to Piedmont where he graduated in 1981. He moved back to Oklahoma City where he lived the remainder of his life. After working with United Refrigeration for 15 years, he became branch manager of one of their stores in Norman, Oklahoma. He enjoyed spending time with his family, rock n’ roll, and fishing. Rendy always had the best jokes, was the life of the party and enjoyed life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife, Mitzi and three daughters: Melissa Von Tungeln and her husband Brad, Jessica Carney, and Lindsey Carney. He is also survived by his three precious grandchildren that he adored, Avery and Carter Von Tungeln, and Everly Redding. His two sisters Dena Carney Jensen and her husband Terry; Jan Carney Ritz and her husband Gene, as well as one half-brother, Anthony Carney, and half-sister, Angela Carney Carter, and husband John. Niece, Marcie Jensen Smith and husband Devin. Nephew, Darin Jensen and his wife, Abbey. Nephew Justin Thompson and wife, Nicole. Two great nieces, Lily Lou Thompson and Emerie Smith, and one great nephew, Noah Smith as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Rev. Ralph and Gladys Butterfield, paternal grandparents, John and Lois Carney, and his parents Mac and Charlette Butterfield Thompson, and Donald G. Carney.
