Phyllis Lee Beres

May 16, 2018 brought to close a 15-year hard fought battle with cancer for Phyllis Lee Beres. She was born October 19, 1950 in Muskogee, OK to Abbie and Jesse Robertson. Following her education at Western Heights Public Schools, Phyllis went on to live a full life. She was selfless, an excellent listener and really knew how to connect to people. In fact, she could never land on one career because she loved learning and doing new things, collecting skills along the way.
Phyllis married her beloved, James Robert Beres, Jr. on June 29, 1981. They loved to go camping, and Phyllis loved any activity that was outdoors. She was crafty and had recently taken up oil painting. Phyllis was an avid scary movie and Sci-Fi enthusiast, the crazier the better. She had a love of lighthouses and they filled her house with memories of joy.
Preceding her in death was her father, Jesse Lee Robertson and son, Harold Lee Daggs.
Those carrying on Phyllis’ legacy through memories are her husband, James Robert Beres, Jr.; mother, Abbie Robertson; daughters, Nicole Lancaster (Josh) and Abbie Comes (Rob); son, James R. Beres III; grandchildren, Justin, Braden, Mason, Michael, Aubrey, Autumn, Jimi, Zach, Robbie, Landon, Tyler, Jacob and Trever; great-granddaughters, Layken and Tatum; brother, Leslie Robertson and daughter, Roxanne; sisters, Linda Smith (Glenn) and daughter, Shannon, Rebecca Hakes (Ric) and sons, R.J. and Justin; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation for Phyllis will be from 1-8pm Sunday, May 20th at Resthaven Funeral Home. Services to celebrate her life will be 2:00pm Monday, May 21, 2018 in The Chapel at Resthaven.
