Paula Lee Dyess Wells, 70, of Oklahoma City, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021, after a long illness at Norman Regional Hospital.
Paula was born on July 1, 1951, in Oklahoma City to her loving parents, John Bonner Dyess, Sr., and Ruby Juanita Dyess. She attended U.S. Grant High School and worked for the Oklahoma County Treasurer’s office until her retirement.
Paula was very creative and loved to sew, needle point, paint, write, take care of her many pets, travel, and attend church. Beside spending time with her family, her favorite pastime was reading.
Paula married Paul Wells in 1987 and they were married for over 34 wonderful years.
Paula Wells is survived by her husband Paul: sister Bonnie: brother Johnny and his wife Skeeter; son Bonner and his wife Heidi; son Bob and his wife Ann; son David and his husband Brian; daughter April; son Jason and his wife Jessica; daughter Mary; grandchildren Kaleb, Ashlyn, Konrad, Gary, Tilla, Meadow, Madison, Megan, Ellie; great grandchildren Waylon, Ron, and Tres; and her nephew Colton and his children Jaxson and Jessa; and many extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Bonner and Juanita Dyess; and her sister, Donelda.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 16, 2021, at Resthaven Funeral Home in south Oklahoma City. The Rev. Richard Talley and her son, Dr. Bonner Slayton, will be officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 15 from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
