Paul Owen Hatley, 97, of Oklahoma City, was called home on October 22nd, 2020, in Norman, Oklahoma.
Paul was born in Holiday, Tennessee, to Laurence A and Bevie Mae Hatley on March 4th, 1923. Paul was the second of three children. He was a veteran of the Army and served during World War II, landing on Omaha Beach during the Normandy Invasion. He was awarded two purple hearts for his service. He married Wanda Lois McLaughlin of Ardmore on February 8th,1947, in Gainesville, Texas. Together they had three daughters, and a marriage that would last 64 years. He was employed at Tinker Air Force Base and retired after 38 years of service. He was a past master of Myrtle Masonic Lodge #145, a member of the Scottish Rite where he achieved his 33rd degree, Eastern Star Harmony Chapter 371, and the India Shrine. He was awarded a Medal of Honor from the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma. He regularly contributed time, energy, and his personal self volunteering to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. We shall never see his like again.
He is preceded in death by his wife Wanda Lois Hatley; his father Laurence A Hatley, his mother Bevie May Hatley;and his brother David Hatley of Detroit, Michigan.
He is survived by his daughters Paula Price of Moore, Vickie Sharp of Oklahoma City, and Beckie Urban of Moore; His sister Inez Ferriter of Natalia, Texas; his grandchildren Matt and Rachel Sharp of Edmond, Andrew Sharp of Oklahoma City, James Urban of Houston, Texas, Amanda Urban of Moore; and his great granddaughter Aubrey Sharp of Edmond.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Resthaven Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life will be Monday, October 26, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
