On July 20, 2021 at the age of 74, Orville Lawrence "Larry" Parton passed away at his home in Oklahoma City. He was a Loving son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was born to Orville and Vernola Parton on January 8, 1947 he is the 2nd child of 5 siblings, After graduating from Capital Hill High School, Orville was drafted into the Army in 1967 to fight in Vietnam from January 11, 1967 to January 10, 1968 he received a Purple Heart and was discharged May 1, 1972. After, returning back to Oklahoma City, he worked at Bunte Candy Factory, Rainbow Bread, Safeway and Unit Parts. Orville enjoyed spending time with his family, shooting his guns, and just being retired. As a young man he enjoyed drag racing in his Plymouth Road Runner, traveling, and enjoying life. He was a humble, kind, funny, and honest man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Orville is preceded in death by his parents Orville and Vernola Parton, sister Ellen Weeks-Owens and Niece Kimberly Parton.
Orville is survived by his sisters Denise Foster, Andrea Russell husband Louis, brother James Parton wife Lenora and all his Nieces and Nephews.
Graveside services Saturday July 31st at 11am at Resthaven Memory Gardens 500 SW 104th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73139 with a reception at the Veterans of Foreign Wars located at 4605 S. Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK, 73119.
