Ollie Blackwood

April 16, 2018 brought to a close 85 years of a life well lived for Ollie Mae Blackwood of Oklahoma City. She was born June 1, 1932 in Valliant, Oklahoma to Bessie and Dudley Cochran. An Oklahoma resident all her life, Ollie married the love of her life, Maskell Blackwood September 19, 1951.
Ollie was an insurance underwriter by trade, but in her spare time she enjoyed bowling, square dancing and going camping, and she was an avid reader. In her later years, Ollie became very involved with Knob Hill Baptist Church and really enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She loved her family and spending time with them more than anything, and just recently was able to add the title of Great-Great-Grandmother to her list.
Ollie was preceded in death by her husband M.L. Blackwood; parents; two sisters, one brother and one half brother.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Tate and Teresa Schneider; grandchildren, Chris Davis, Shannon Davis, Nathan Johnson and Mary Elizabeth Byrd; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Glenn, Jordan Davis, Morgan Bowles, Jaden Davis, Justin Davis, Hannah Johnson, Chad Johnson, Brooke Boak and Rebecca Boak; and one great-great-grandson, Henry Bowles.
