January 2, 2018 brought to a close 85 years of a life well lived for Novella Frances Massey. She was born August 1, 1932 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Roy and Mittie Thomas Ketner.

Novella grew up in Newcastle area and graduated from Newcastle High School. She married Garner Massey on December 27, 1950. She was employed by the Oklahoma Tax Commission in 1965 until her retirement in 1987. Novella enjoyed sewing, knitting, ceramics, playing solitaire and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garner; parents; brother, Jim Ketner; and grandson, Kyle Ham.

She was survived by three daughters, Kathy Wofford, Charlotte Hornstein, Connie Ham and her husband Joe; son, Britt Massey; two grandchildren, Dustin Wofford, Melissa Brunson and her husband Brian; three great-grandchildren, Brock Brunson, Bryce Brunson, Christian Wofford and his mother Krystle Soudek; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home Friday, January 5, 2018 from 1-8pm with family present to greet friends from 6-8pm. Services to celebrate Novella’s life will be 10:00am Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Southern Hills Church of God, 1029 W I-240 Service Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73139, with burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
