Nadine Whitfield

Velma Nadine “Deannie” Whitfield, our precious Momma, Grandma and Great Granny is in the presence of the Lord today. She passed peacefully on January 26th, 2020 at the age of 84. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charley E. Whitfield. What a sweet reunion in heaven that was! She raised us four daughters and we never doubted her love for us. She was somehow able to make each of us feel that we were her favorite. She was a homemaker and great cook most of her life. Her tacos and taco casserole are legendary. We enjoyed them every Christmas Eve for years. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and enjoyed singing about Him every chance she had. In the last couple of years she spent much of her time watching Gaither Videos on Youtube and singing along. She was also a talented artist, enjoying oil painting, sewing and in the recent years, coloring with colored pencils. She loved keeping up with her grandchildren and great grandchildren on facebook and instagram. Her legacy is in her four daughters, four son-in-laws, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. We will all miss her dearly, but we rejoice knowing that she is home.
