Mickey F. Cary

Mickey F. Cary passed from this life on May 11, 2019 at the age of 87. He was born August 1, 1931 in Duncan, OK to Andy and Ida Mae Cary, the 6th of 9 children.
Mickey grew up in Duncan and graduated from Duncan High School in 1950. He went on to obtain a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Oklahoma. Always a hard-worker, he worked his summers during school as a talented painter and carpenter. After obtaining his degree, Mickey opened his own pharmacy, Cary’s University Drug, in downtown OKC where he served the community for more than 30 years. In his ever entrepreneurial spirit, he established a thriving second career in commercial and residential property management after retiring from pharmacy practice.
Mickey’s hobbies included traveling, watching Western movies, and golfing. In addition, he loved playing jokes on friends and family. He will be remembered for the love and laughter he brought them on a daily basis.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and 1 grandchild, Jonah Cary.
His survivors include his sons, Monte Cary, of Georgetown, TX and Allen Cary of Las Vegas, NV; his daughters- Darenda McCarty of Oklahoma City and Tena Zaloudik and husband, Neal, of Oklahoma City; sisters, Betty Watkins and Joy Vaughan; grandchildren- Jennifer, Angela, Monica, Chris, Andrew, Raven, Melissa, Jason, Sky, Brittanie, and Cameron; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 more arriving soon. Mickey is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends.
