On Friday, January 27, 2023, Micah Lynn Pettigrew passed away at the age of 55.
Micah was born November 10, 1967, in Stillwater, Oklahoma to parents Bill and Verna Pettigrew. Micah spent his working life in the auto body industry. He started his career as an auto body painter in Duncan, Oklahoma. After moving his family to Oklahoma City in 1990, he worked at Southwest Ford as an auto body painter and advancing into role as Assistant Manager. He left Southwest Ford and began working for State Farm Auto Insurance Company in March of 1998. His career continued there in Auto Estimatics until October of 2020. It was at State Farm that he grew to know most of his lifelong friends and colleagues in the Oklahoma City area. Micah had a reputation for being a perfectionist, “stickler”, making sure that repairs were done the way they should be for the customers. At the time of his passing Micah was working for OKC Auto Works in Oklahoma City with his brother, Tracy Pettigrew. Micah’s favorite pastimes were his cars, motorcycles, exercising, and bicycling. Micah was an avid fan of Oklahoma State University Athletics. Micah married Wendy Starr in February of 1987 and they shared 35 years of love together. They had one daughter and two grandchildren together. He was a wonderful and devoted dad and Pop Pop. Micah was preceded in death by his great grandmother Molly Layn, grandmother Virginia Smallwood, and grandparents Harry and Christine Pettigrew.
Micah leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Wendy Pettigrew; his daughter Tara Pettigrew; grandchildren Braxton and Bryleigh Lone wolf, brother Tracy Pettigrew; his parents Bill and Verna Pettigrew; and his mother-in-law Paulette Benson; along with many other family and friends.
