Maxine Theresa Bennett entered her Heavenly home on January 6, 2021. She was born October 1, 1935 in Oklahoma City to Sisto and Juanita Galindo Pena. Maxine grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Mount St. Mary High School in 1954. She then married the love of her life, Alfred Bennett, on May 28, 1954. From this union they were blessed with eight children and over 66 years of a wonderful marriage. Maxine loved cooking and sewing. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. In addition, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Sisto and Juanita Pena; brothers, Raymond Pena, Joe Pena, Anthony Pena, David Pena, and Danny Pena; and sister, Virginia Ashley. Those left to continue her legacy include her loving husband, Alfred Bennett; son, John Bennett and wife Candy; daughters, Janette Hutchason, Joni Barton and husband David, Joyce Austin and husband Lonnie, Juanita Andrews, Jackie King and husband Bob, Judy Bennett, and Julie Boettger and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Brooke McMahan and husband Brody, Shane Bennett and wife Vanessa, Stephanie Brown and husband Kyle, Jennifer Buxton and husband Ryan, Shannon Irwin and husband John, Shaun Barton and wife Sheena, Alan Barton, Lindsey Walton and husband Forrest, Kyle Austin and wife Katie, Ashley Andrews, Sara Wilder and husband Cody, and Seth King; great-grandchildren, Danica McMahan, Blaine Bennett, Blake Bennett, Christian Brown, Bailey Buxton, Brittany Buxton, Shelbi Irwin, Jaycee Irwin, Samuel Irwin, Samantha Barton, Serena Barton, Ethan Barton, Ryan Walton, Remy Walton, and Justus Wilder; sisters, Carmen Lockwood and husband Lynn and Alta Oden; and brother, Phillip Pena and wife Kaye. Visitation for Maxine is 3:00pm-8:00pm, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside Services are 2:00pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
