Max Dale Fitzgerald “Corky” passed from this life November 16, 2020 at the age of 91. He was born July 21, 1929 in Healdton, OK to Lewis and Edna Fitzgerald.
Corky grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School. He then went to mechanic school at Southwest Automotive prior to enlisting into the United States Army. During this time, he served in the Korean War. After his military service, Corky went on to work at Mack Trucks, Kenworth Trucks, and ultimately retired from Peterbilt Trucks after more than 35 years in the industry. After retirement, he helped his daughter with her book keeping business.
Corky’s hobbies included bowling, metal detecting, and collecting coins.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Lewis and Edna Fitzgerald; loving wife, June Fitzgerald; and brother, Lewis Fitzgerald, Jr.
Survivors include his son, Steve Fitzgerald and wife Roxanne; daughters, Laura Daniels and husband Ricky, and Susan Stallings; brother-in-law, Tommy Young and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Colton Fitzgerald and Taylor Daniels and wife Kacey; great-grandchildren, Dax Daniels and Drake Daniels.
Visitation is 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside services are 2:00pm, Friday, November 20, 2020 at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Condolences may be shared at www.ResthavenOKC.com.
