Martha Sue Whitaker

Martha Sue Whitaker, “Susie”, passed from this life September 6, 2021 in Oklahoma City. She was born January 7, 1954 in Oklahoma City to Hiram Orvel “H.O.” McMillin and Martha Ann Micmillin. Susie graduated from U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City. She obtained her pilot license in 1990 and became one of the few women in her field to do so. Susie worked for FAA as a flight analyst for 30 years and ultimately retired from there.

Susie was an avid gardener and spent most of her free time in her garden. In addition, she absolutely loved dogs and had several “Westie” and Cairn terriers. Susie was a Christian woman with the heart of a servant. She found peace and comfort in frequent meditation and also enjoyed reading and studying Eastern religions such as Buddhism.

She was preceded in passing by her loving husband, Steve Whitaker; parents, H.O. and Martha McMillin; and brother, Donald McMillin.

Those left to continue her legacy include her son, Matt Whitaker and wife Leah; daughter, Brittany Whitaker; grandchildren, Miles and Abigail Whitaker; and sister, Linda Everett.

A Celebration of Life memorial ceremony will take place at 10:00am, Saturday, October 16, 2021 in the Chapel at Resthaven. Condolences may be shared at www.ResthavenOKC.com.
