Tribute

Martha “Sue” Heatley Conkwright went to be with the Lord on June 5th, 2021. She was born March 7th, 1944 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, becoming the last of seven children. In 1955, the family moved to Oklahoma City, where she graduated from Classen High School in 1962. In 1965, she met the love of her life who she wed on October 1st, 1965. In May of 1971, she gave birth to their only child, a daughter.

Sue began working for SIC in 1974, leaving in 1977 for Bank of Oklahoma, where she remained for over thirty years, retiring in 2010.

Sue was an avid reader who loved to learn and inspired that same love in her daughter and grandson. While she sacrificed in her career for her family, she inspired her daughter and grandson to pursue higher education. After retirement, she enjoyed devouring mystery novels and playing solitaire on her iPad while watching car auctions, auto racing, and home shows with her family.

She was preceded in death by her daddy, John Wesley Heatley II, momma, Gladys Mary Carter Heatley Hanna, mother-in-law Marie “Alice” Conkwright, niece, Lee Ann Heatley, half-sister Mattie Lee Heatley Farrell, half-brother John Wesley Heatley III, brothers, Doyle Eugene Heatley and Leon Wayne Heatley, and sisters Virginia Mae Heatley Cash, Lora Heatley Thomas, Valeta Ruth Heatley Frejo, and Iris Ann Heatley Spain Bailey. They are all together again.

She is survived by her husband, John Dee Conkwright, daughter Jennifer Lynn Conkwright Bohn and her husband Craig Allen Bohn, grandson Collin Thomas Bohn, brother-in-law Dana Thomas, nephews Marc Spain, Michael Frejo, Wesley Cash, and Larry Cash, and nieces Angela Thomas, Darlene Thomas Stoddard, Carolyn Burton, Mary Elizabeth Cash, Teresa Frejo McKinley, Mary Ferrell, Donna Spain-Bryant, Lisa Spain, Shari Spain, Sherrie Conkwright Lugo, Carrie Conkwright Hewitt, Jeri Dawn Ray, and several great nieces, great nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.

Sue was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who loved life and was adored by all who had the opportunity to meet her. Her presence will be deeply missed by all.

Until we meet again. We love you so much, Suzie/Momma/Grandma/Aunt Soup.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.
