Marjorie Elaine Stevens entered the gates of Heaven January 7, 2020 in Bethany, Oklahoma at the age of 94. She was born December 26, 1925 in Minden Nebraska. Marjorie grew up in Minden. After graduation and during WW II she was a “Rosey Riveter”. She worked in an ammunition depot in Hastings, NB. After her first child was born she moved to Oklahoma in order to be close to family. She worked in accounting for several years and retired from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in 1998.
Marjorie and her loving husband, Otto Stevens, were blessed with 67 years of a wonderful marriage prior to Otto’s passing in 2016. They loved square dancing, however their passion was on bowling. Marjorie also enjoyed crocheting. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Marjorie was preceded in passing by her loving husband, Otto Stevens; daughters, Connie Long and Mary Cox; and granddaughter, Sandra Stevens. She was also preceded in passing by her parents, as well as 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
Those left to continue Marjorie’s legacy include her son, Stanley Stevens and wife Sylvia; daughters, Jackie Owen and husband Dale, Sandra Van Patten and husband Scott, Kathy Smith and husband Chuck, and son-in-law, Rick Long; grandchildren, Terry Owen, Roger Owen and wife Mia, Kristie McCoombee and husband Marc, Michelle Kuper, Jacqueline Stevens, Matthew Stevens, Danielle Stevens and Maurice Nesbitt, Tori Cox, Taylor Newman and husband Cameron, Emily Smith, Shelby Smith, Amy Reeves and husband Dan, and Tim Long and wife Shannon; great-grandchildren, Tierra Owen, Colton Owen and wife Shay, Summer Owen, Shawnlyn Deitz, Ashley Deitz, Taryn Stevens, Rylun Sanders, Kaitlin Scorsone and husband Christian, Matt Reeves, Mackenzie Reeves, Payden Long, and Sydney Long; and great-great grandchildren, Cannon Owen, Joslyn Owen, and Lincoln Scorsone. Marjorie is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends who will all miss her dearly.
Visitation for Marjorie is 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Services are 2:00pm, Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Chapel at Resthaven, 500 SW 104th St. Oklahoma City, OK 73139. Condolences may be shared at www.ResthavenOKC.com.
