Maria Rodriguez, 94 lived a healthy life and enjoyed knitting, dancing, her family, and praying.  She worked in the school system in her early years and lived in Newcastle, Oklahoma until her husband, Rosael, Sr.  passed in December 2008.  Since that time, she enjoyed moving around spending time with her family in Oklahoma City, Elk City, Louisiana and Texas.   She was staying with her son, Rosael Jr, in Louisiana during the 2016 floods and lost everything.  She had seven children:  Robert Longoria, Gloria Leyja, Baltimore Garcia, Esmerelda Lopez, Rosael Rodriquez, Jr., Eriberto Rodriquez, and Saul Rodriguez, Sr.  She had 19 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. A Wake will be held 6:30 pm Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at The Chapel at Resthaven with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. James the Greater Catholic Church at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 14, 2017 with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City, OK.
