Tribute

Lenin R Aebischer
“Papaw”
January 15, 1932 – July 17, 2020
Lenin was born in St Louis, Missouri, and moved to Oklahoma City where he became a standout high school football and baseball player at Central High School. The local newspaper pegged him as the most exciting high school football player in the state in 1949. He was very quick and shifty as a running back and could fly around the bases in baseball. Although he was small in stature, he was a fierce competitor on the softball field, as well. He was an all-star fast pitch second baseman many, many times in his 30-year career. He played on top-ranked teams, and rarely got beat. He was a great lead-off batter. Although he loved sports, he was also a dedicated lifelong employee at the Ralston Purina company where he worked for 43 years, never missing a day of work. He always had a smile on his face and gentleness in his heart.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dortha, who was his caregiver over the last 5 years after he suffered a stroke that impacted his short-term memory. He always remembered and loved each one in his family. He is also survived by his son Darrell and wife Debbie, their daughter Amy and husband Clifton Poff and their daughter Chloe. Also, their son Chad and wife Lori and their children Landon, Liana, Lindie and Lilly. He is also survived by his daughter Diana and husband Dennis George, their daughter Kristi and husband Mike O’Dell and their sons Tyler and Manny. Also, their daughter Kim and husband Tim Denny and their children Malissa and Mitchell, and his wife Stephanie. Lenin was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings and a son, David. He was a great man who will be deeply missed. We will meet again in heaven.
