October 20, 2017 brought to a close 86 years of a life well lived for Jimmy Arnold Newman. He was born July 24, 1931 in Pauls Valley to Martha Bell (Cathy) and Dewey Arnold Newman. A graduate of Central High School in Oklahoma City, Jimmy went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1050-1954.

August 31, 1957 began a beautiful 60 year marriage when Jimmy married Patty Jo Davis, and to their union they were blessed with two sons, Mark and Tim Newman. Jimmy was a carpenter by trade, and for a time enjoyed working alongside his boys in the family carpentry business. An avid fan of all sports, Jimmy was an especially fond of golf and fast pitch softball, and could be found watching NASCAR when it was on TV. He loved going to the lake and fishing for crappie.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Bill and Don Newman.

He is survived by his wife, Patty; sons, Mark and Tim Newman; sisters, Ann Watson and husband Joe Bob, Alma Underwood and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Ryan Newman, Amanda Johnston and husband Cody; great-grandson, Eli Newman; numerous nephews and nieces; and good friend and fishing buddy, Sam Musick.
