SMSgt Janice Marie Lyles, 76, passed away peacefully in her home in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on November 11, 1945.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Danny Boismier and Billy Boismier, one sister Gayle-Ann Boyer, and her eldest son, Dwayne Willis.
After graduating Putnam City High School, Janice enlisted in the US Air Force in May 1979 and went on to serve her Country for 26 years with the 507 Fighter Wing / Air Refueling Wing as the Supply Technician and Logistics Specialist.
During her career, she was fortunate to have traveled extensively visiting numerous countries around the world. She loved to share her travel adventure with friends and family.
Janice retired from the Air Force in November 2005.
After retirement, Janice served as a Committee Member with the 507th Silver Squadron, a group of former and retired 507 members.
Janice was extremely passionate about animals and donated regularly to the Wildcare Oklahoma and 2nd Chance Animal Rescue of Norman, OK.
Over the course of her life, Janice accumulated a multitude of friends and loved nothing more than helping those in need.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lyles of the home; sisters, Marla Satterfield of El Reno, OK, Angela Salmon of Burleson, TX, her son Duke Willis and wife Helen of Moore, OK; son Richard Willis and wife Amanda of Austin, TX; daughter Sheila Lyles of Moore, OK; grandchildren Calen Willis, Carson Willis, Tara Willis, Corey Willis, Lauren Willis, Gabrielle Willis, Jacob Lyles and Teagan Lyles and great grandchildren Waylon Willis, Xander Lyles and Parker Lyles; along with several nieces and nephews.
