Janet A. Melton

Janet Alene Lackey Melton was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Janet was born Jan. 29, 1946, in Oklahoma City. She lost her 8-year battle with ovarian cancer on Nov. 1, 2018.

Janet grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School. She was a resident of Edmond, her hometown of 43 years. Janet put her family and friends first. You could find her cheering on her kids and grandkids in all of their activities. Janet was a joy to all who knew her.

Janet is proceeded in death by her husband, Jack W. Melton; father, Raymond Lackey; her brother Russell Lackey; and in-laws, Jack W. Melton Sr. and Vera Childers Melton. She is survived by her mother, Naomi McFarland Lackey; brother, James Lackey; children Lori Melton McKinnon, Rodd Melton, and Ryan Melton; and daughters-in-law, Kristi Melton and Alissa Melton. She also is survived by her eight grandchildren Jake McKinnon, Meredith McKinnon, Claire McKinnon, Kyler Melton, Karson Melton, Luke Melton, Kate Melton, and Ella Melton.
