Jackie (Jack) Bill Sherga passed away surrounded by his family at his home on Jan. 22, 2023. Jack was the son of Bill Sherga and Pat Sherga. He was born March 15, 1958, in Sulphur, OK. Jack was a lifelong resident of south Oklahoma City. He attended Moore High School and graduated in 1976. Jack went on to continue his studies at Seminole Junior College from 1977 to 1978, where he was a member of the Seminole Trojan baseball team. Jack married Kathy Davis, and together they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Morgan, and Lindsey. Later Jack married Lisa Presley and the two remained life partners until the time of his passing. Jack had an accomplished career of 30 + years as a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union, Local 344.
Jack loved all things OU sports and the Dallas Cowboys, hunting, fishing, golf and his favorite pastime, baseball. He greatly enjoyed coaching various youth sports and was proud to lead the way in taking the 1994 Moore Drillers to the United States Slow Pitch Softball Associations World Tournament in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Jack was fiercely competitive and excelled at all sports and the first to call “next”.
Jack was preceded in death by his father Bill Sherga, Grandparents Helen and Earnest Rutherford, Ethal and Joe Sherga, Great Grandparents Mary and Jim Ward, cousin Clay Culver.
Jack leaves behind his mother Pat Sherga, brother Joe Sherga, daughters, Morgan and Wife Kandice Musson, Lindsay Nelson and husband Matt, grand children Milan, Whitney (Whit), Goldie, Jaxon (Jax), Selah, Sophie and Jude. Aunt and early life care giver Janice Culver and Husband Kenny, cousin Kristen Culver, Step Children Trice Presley and wife Jessica, Larissa Presley, and step grandchildren Averie, Kellen, Cameron Abigail and Caden.
Visitation is 4:30pm-6pm, Thurs., Jan. 26, 2023 at Resthaven Funeral Home, OKC. Services are 10:30am, Fri., Jan. 27, 2023 in the Chapel at Resthaven. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur, OK. Condolences may be shared at www.ResthavenOKC.com.
