Jack Edwin Tiller, Sr. passed from this life October 6, 2019 in Oklahoma City at the age of 90. He was born February 26, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to William Vernon Tiller and Ella Marcet Tiller (Francis).
Jack graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1949. He immediately went on to join the United States Marine Corps, where he served for 3 years before being honorably discharged May 11, 1951. Jack later joined the United States Army in January of 1953, where he proudly served for 3 years. During his time in the military, Jack served his country in the Korean War as well as the end of WWII. He married the love of his life, Rhoda Caddell, on August 13, 1953 in Cupertino, California. The two were joyfully blessed with 66 years of marriage prior to Jack’s passing.
Jack loved listening to piano music. In addition, he loved traveling around the U.S. doing genealogy research with Rhoda. Above all, Jack adored his family. He loved telling them jokes and making everyone laugh. Jack worked as a Non-Destructive Inspector at Tinker Air Force Base for 29 years prior to his retirement. He will be missed forever by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, William and Ella Tiller; and brothers, Harold Tiller and Jerry Tiller.
Those left to continue his legacy include his loving wife of 66 years, Rhoda Tiller, of the home; son, Jack Edwin Tiller, Jr. and wife Valerie of Oklahoma City; daughters, Sherry Humphries and husband Don of Tucson, Arizona, and Lori Upman and husband Russell of Lawrence, Kansas; grandchildren, Michelle Sheaffer, Llea Humphries, Shannon Wilson, Ashley Tiller, Jonas Upman, and Eva Upman; brother, Donald Tiller; sisters, Marcia Miller and husband Robert, Donna Pearl Samp, Billie Jo Arey, and Paula Jane Clayter. Jack is also survived by a host of loving extended family and friends.
