Henry Jackson Criswell

April 28, 2018 brought to a close 92 years of a life well lived for Henry Jackson Criswell. The son of Henry J. and Ina (Tucker) Criswell, Henry was born February 25, 1926 in Moore, OK.
Henry served his country in the United States Navy, and then went on to work for the Oklahoma City Fire Department as a Fire Inspector and the State Fire Marshal’s Office retiring as the Assistant State Fire Marshal.
When he wasn’t working, Henry loved restoring old cars, wood working and being outside. Henry married his beloved Jewell 71 years ago in April of 1947. They loved spending time together, whether it was attending their children’s activities when the kids were little, or mowing yards, as long as they were together, they were happy.
Henry was preceded in death by his father, Henry J. Criswell; parents John Wesley and Ina Lee Criswell Jackson; brothers, Wayne, Dale and Thurman; sisters, Vena, Lydia and Vera.
He is survived by his wife Jewell of the home; daughter, Ginger (David) Mercer; son, Terry (Gracie) Criswell; sister, Darlene (Dale) Hardin; grandchildren, Shelly (Neal) Collins, Dustin (Trinh) Mercer, Lindi Criswell; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Grace Living Center Brookwood and Good Shepherd Hospice for their loving care and support.
Services to celebrate Henry’s life will be 10:00am Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in The Chapel at Resthaven.
