Harold was a "one-of-a-kind" brother-in-law. He married my sister Pal at a time in her life that had already had more sorrow than any one life should have. She had not only lost her first husband in a tragic way, but she had to survive the slow deaths of her only two sons. Harold appeared to have one purpose in life: take care of Pal. At times I thought he over did it, but I am so thankful for the many years he spent dedicated to her protection and care. Harold took his job of being her husband very seriously. Mentally, Pal and Harold seemed to actually "leave us" at about the same time some months ago. May God bless you, Sherri. grholton

We love you Pappy Yoakum and will miss you very much. You were always a kind, thoughtful good man whose legacy lives on through the students you mentored and inspired as my Vo-Ag teacher.

My condolences in the loss of the greatest vo-ag teacher. Mr. Yoakum was a gentle giant whom i had huge respect for. He taught me that hard work pays off, reaching unimaginable achievements because he believed in me and helped me to believe in myself. I'll forever cherish the memories of THE fairest ag teacher: going down the road drawing numbers out of his hat for show animals headed home after leaving farms and sale barns; For introducing me to butter chess pie!; For instilling in me integrity, leadership, and perseverance, and that being chosen for a single top award really means humility ~that it is truly an accumalitive number of fellow ag students working together to make the best better; and many, many, so many more life lessons learned. You forever have ingrained a lasting place in my heart. Godspeed Sir!
