September 9, 2017 brought to a close 86 years of a life well lived for Ghita Stigers, of Norman. She was born November 10, 1930 in Tripoli, Libya. Her husband Elmer preceded her in death on May 23, 1992. She is survived by her son Michael, daughter Rebecca, and son Gregory. Ghita arrived in America at Ellis Island in June 1951. She married Elmer in 1956, started her family in 1958 and completed her family in 1963 with Greg. Ghita spent the majority of her life as a wife and homemaker. She worked at McDonalds for many years after becoming an empty nester and retired in 1987. Ghita survived cancer and the May 3, 1999 tornado. She is also survived by Elisa Gigrich, Brian and Chelsea Stigers, Rindee Hawkins; Matthew, Christopher, Corina (Rachel), Timothy, Anastasia, and Lydia Stigers. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 500 SW 104th St., OKC on Wednesday, September 13th at 1PM. Services have been entrusted to the care of Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens.
