Jerri Puckett was born in southeast Oklahoma City to George M. Goure and Edith Harmon Goure. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School and gained business experience while working at TG&Y Stores in Oklahoma City. Jerri met the love of her life, Paul Puckett, and the two were married in April 1947. They had two children, Chris and Paula. Jerri participated in the PTA, was a Home Room Mom at both Lee Elementary School and Prairie Queen Elementary, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a Brownie Leader. All the while helping with the family business. In 1969, Paul and Jerri bought out their partner, Paul’s brother, and continued the Paul Puckett Body Shop and Wrecker service. Jerri worked with him in the business along with raising two children and being active in their extra activities. Jerri continued working in the family business up until a few weeks before her passing.
Jerri was a member of Malcolm Hunter chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Red Bud Chapter of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Order of the Eastern Star, and an Honorary Member of the Retired Police Officers Association of Oklahoma. She and Paul loved to travel and did so quite often, whether cross country in their Ford custom van or jetting overseas to Europe. They would often travel with Jerri’s sister, her husband, and other friends.
Jerri had a full life and enjoyed every day to the fullest. She cherished her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also cared deeply for the employees, and their families, that she was blessed to work with over the years. Everyone that knew her would always remember her as very kind and friendly with an outgoing personality.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Puckett; parents, George and Edith Goure; Sister, Frances Jones; and brother, George Goure.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Chris Puckett and wife Debra, Paula Waugh and husband Mark.
She is survived by four grandchildren and their spouses: Layne Sargent and husband Jarad, Alex Scovill and spouse Eli Bergman, Jeff Koons and wife Amber, Jennifer Koons-Smith and husband Bill Smith.
She is survived by ten great-grandchildren: Emery Sargent, Aiden Sargent, Noah Koons, Jacob Koons, Josiah Koons, Asher Koons, Kale Smith, Jude Smith, Jase Smith, and Tori Smith.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Her family and friends have been extremely blessed to have had her in their life and she will be missed greatly.
