Georgia J. Halford, 83, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
She was known as Georgia to most and her favorite people called her Mema. She was born on April 23, 1937 to George and Ruth Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Smith and son, Dennis Halford. She was born in Nevada, but grew up in Mangum, OK. In 1954 she met and married the love of her life and according to her....her Elvis, William Halford. They had three children, Dennis Halford, which preceded her in death and two surviving daughters, Patty Self, husband Freddie and Terri Hunter, husband David.
She was a loving housewife for many years and loved her family dearly. She became a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed many years in scouting. Her girls loved her; she was an awesome leader because she was truly a kid at heart.
She eventually went to work at various jobs, but retired from TG&Y after many years. The highlight of her life was spoiling and supporting her grandchildren: John Halford and wife Kylee of Oklahoma City, Brandy Gutierrez and husband Mario of Mustang, Avery Carpenter and husband Dustin of Oklahoma City, Haley Garrett and husband Travis of Moore, Candace Litton and husband Daniel of Oklahoma City, Tonia Hart of Florida and William Halford of Florida, as well as 14 great grandchildren: Teran, Brittan, Braxton, Rylee, Mario, Jr., Galveston, Zacharias, Cora, Ava, Samantha, Tristan, Teagan, Jared, Julia, and one on the way!
Services to celebrate Georgia’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2020 at The Chapel at Resthaven with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
