Genevieve “Genny” Grissom, age 98 of San Antonio, Texas passed away in her sleep May 16, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Katy Reeves of Chickasha, OK, her brother DeWayne Reeves of Duncan, OK and her beloved husband Lannes LaMonte “Dub” Grissom of Oklahoma City, OK. She is survived by her sister LaJuene and her husband Otis Jackson of Tuttle, OK, her daughter Anita and husband Robert Henson of San Antonio, TX, a son William “Bill” Grissom and wife Patricia of Oklahoma City, OK and a son Monte Grissom and wife Jeanette of Dallas, TX, seven grand-children and nine great-grand children. Genny was born in Oklahoma City on January 7, 1921 and graduated high school from Friend High School in Chickasha in 1939. In 1942 she joined the war effort by moving to Wichita, KS to help build flight trainers for Beechcraft. She met and married Dub Grissom in 1946 in Oklahoma City where she lived until his passing, then retired to San Antonio. Genny loved family and travel, often combining these two by vacationing in an RV with four grand kids traveling to places she knew they would love. Later, she and Dub would travel many miles in a motor home making lasting friendships with people in multiple states camping together and meeting in the same places year after year. She was an active member of the Southwest Church of Christ in Oklahoma City for almost 50 years. A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M., June 29th, 2019 in the chapel at Resthaven Cemetery, 500 S.W. 104th St. in Oklahoma City followed by inurnment along side her beloved husband Dub.
