Gavin Lane Roach

We mournfully announce the passing of Gavin Lane Roach, 44, of Norman, OK.
Gavin was born to Leo and Zelma (Warrior) Roach on April 3rd, 1978 and was a member of both the Cherokee Nation and Ponca Nation of Oklahoma.

Gavin was an athlete most of his life and loved competition. He spent many weekends challenging his friends and family to a game of golf, basketball, tennis, or to catch the biggest fish in all of Lake Eufala. He worked hard to earn a black belt in Taekwondo as a child and then excelled at running track & playing football at Westmoore High School. Sooner born and Sooner bred, Gavin attended the University of Oklahoma and was a lifelong fan of all their sports teams. He married the love of his life, Chasity, on October 25th, 2008 and they started their life together in Norman, OK. On February 3rd, 2012, they welcomed twin boys, Gabriel & Gadriel, and their little family was complete. Gavin loved being a father & it gave him a chance to share his love of toys, video games, and sports with his mini-me’s. Unfortunately, his health worsened in the past few years & Chasity, along with his dad & sisters, did their best to provide care and comfort for him. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 9th, 2022.

Our Gavin was preceded in death by his mother, Zelma Roach, his father-in-law, Steve Sonoga, his sisters, Peggy Roach and Becky Roach, and brother-in-law, Ben Sonoga.

He is survived by his wife, Chasity Roach, and twin sons Gabriel & Gadriel, of Norman, OK; father, Leo Roach, of Oklahoma City; mother-in-law, Tina Sonoga; brothers Jess Roach & his wife Kim, of Edmond, OK; Timothy Roach of Oklahoma City; David Clark III, of Yukon, OK; and Beau Elliott, of Oklahoma City; sisters Jill Roach and Twila Roach, both of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law Tasha Sonoga-Haley & husband Jimmy, of Victoria,TX; nephews Spencer Roach, of Edmond, OK; Michael Mack, of Ardmore, OK; and David Clark IV, of Yukon, OK; nieces Rebecca Roach & fiancée Dan Siefert of Austin, TX; Bailey Roach, of Edmond, OK; Lexi Roach & fiancée Chris Tudor, of Oklahoma City; and Trinity Sonoga, of Victoria, TX; grand nephew Elliott Tudor, of Oklahoma City, and a multitude of extended family and beloved friends. We will all miss him dearly.

Gavin's Celebration of Life will take place at 10:00am, Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the Chapel at Resthaven. The service will be live-streamed for those who would like to attend virtually.
